About the position

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the long-term planning, design, implementation, and administration of HR products and services that align with the organization's strategic business objectives. This role encompasses various HR functions including compensation, benefits, workforce planning, employee relations, labor relations, compliance, employee engagement, performance management, and training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization's long-term mission and goals
  • Provides oversight to the MJE Human Resources Department with a strong emphasis on staff development
  • Drives organizational change while maintaining the company's culture, values, and beliefs
  • Provides HR consultation services to the affiliated MJE Group Operating Units
  • Champions the company's Diversity Equity Inclusion (DEI) strategies and training
  • Implements and annually updates MJE compensation program
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program
  • Establishes and maintains personnel and HR Department records and reports
  • Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel
  • Directs the implementation of new or revised HR programs and/or policies
  • Manages HR projects and initiatives by coordinating with Regional Leaders and Business Unit Leaders
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and all related employment laws
  • Participates on the MJE Executive and Safety Steering Committees
  • Works closely with Quanta HR in support of sharing best practices
  • Collaborates with MJE field personnel regarding HR and labor related issues
  • Supports the annual Business Planning and Budgeting process

Requirements

  • SPHR or PHR certification
  • Extensive (12+) years of HR Generalist experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field or commensurate experience
  • Ability to engage and consult with all levels of management
  • Ability to analyze complex information and formulate decisions
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Ability to provide oversight to numerous HR projects
  • Strong collaboration and consultation skills
  • Strong background knowledge in performance management, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, labor law, HR compliance, labor relations, employee engagement, collective bargaining and training and development.
