About the position

The Director of Industrial Engineering at ImageFIRST will lead all engineering activities and projects within the Northeast region, focusing on facility design, project development, planning, budgeting, and execution. This leadership role involves managing a team of engineers, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, and maintaining high standards of engineering services. The Director will also oversee high-priority projects and be responsible for personnel actions within the engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all engineering activities and projects within the designated region.
  • Manage facility design, project development, planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • Implement and maintain overall engineering objectives and initiatives.
  • Hire, develop, and lead an engineering team.
  • Manage a comprehensive project management process to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
  • Supervise staff in daily execution of duties and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Lead high-priority, high-visibility projects and uphold organizational expectations.
  • Deliver precise planning and exceptional engineering services.
  • Develop project scopes of work and bid specifications.
  • Review bid proposals, MEP, architectural, and civil drawings, and negotiate vendor pricing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field is required; Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Postgraduate courses in business-related disciplines (e.g., PMP, PPM) are preferred.
  • Project Management certification is strongly preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is strongly preferred, or a solid understanding of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineer.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects exceeding $500,000 in scope for external clients.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time to ImageFIRST field locations.
  • A valid, clean driver's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in the laundry industry is a plus.
