About the position

The Director of IT & Security will play a crucial role in re-designing and engineering the IT infrastructure of a rapidly growing, tech-enabled transportation management company. This position offers significant executive visibility and requires on-site presence in Denver, CO. The role is a contract-to-hire opportunity, focusing on aligning IT projects with business objectives and enhancing the company's security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the oversight of the company's IT infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Manage the design, implementation and maintenance of the national network infrastructure to support company growth
  • Develop and maintain technology architecture in line with strategic goals and provide guidance to IT teams for system design and development
  • Stay updated on technology trends and implement innovative technologies to enhance company productivity, competitiveness and security
  • Manage global IT infrastructure capital planning and budget allocation to support business growth and innovation
  • Collaborate with finance teams to track IT expenditures and negotiate with suppliers and partners for infrastructure-specific products and services
  • Evaluate outsourced services and manage IT personnel development to meet company needs
  • Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, response, mitigation and documentation
  • Deploy and manage security tools for threat detection and prevention and monitor alerts for malicious activity
  • Develop and implement incident response playbooks and assist with technical forensic investigations
  • Complete risk assessments, security audits and develop security policies and procedures
  • Enhance vulnerability management program with vulnerability scans and remediation procedures
  • Lead projects related to security network infrastructure and implement security technologies
  • Maintain cybersecurity awareness training program for employees and stay informed about cybersecurity threats and trends

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in information security and/or security operations with proficiency in security tools and technologies
  • Experience with vulnerability management, security frameworks, compliance requirements and security architecture design
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, security policy development and governance administration
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams, multitask, prioritize requests and produce quality work
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend support and travel may be required
