About the position
The Director of IT Support Services provides leadership and oversight for all functions related to Information Technology (IT) at the institution. This role involves managing IT staff, overseeing end-user support, and ensuring the effective operation of IT services across campus facilities. The director is responsible for life cycle management of technology assets, contract management, and adherence to information security policies, while also managing the IT budget and coordinating project management efforts.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direct oversight for all IT functions.
- Manage and mentor IT subordinates.
- Oversee day-to-day execution and management of end-user escalations.
- Manage life cycle, maintenance, and inventory control of technology assets.
- Administer physical and virtual information systems.
- Handle contract management, negotiations, and SLA oversight.
- Oversee service operations including incident management and request fulfillment.
- Coordinate project management efforts for continual service improvement.
- Govern information security policies and acceptable use guidelines.
- Manage IT budgeting in coordination with senior administration.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in Windows systems administration.
- Knowledge of Microsoft RSAT and ITIL best practices.
- Fundamental understanding of CISSP practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact respectfully in a diverse multicultural environment.
