About the position

The Director of IT will lead and oversee the IT department at Valley Fine Foods, focusing on the management of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly Business Central. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless integration and optimal functionality across the organization's operations, managing IT infrastructure, developing technology strategies, and driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency through effective software and systems utilization. The director will collaborate with various departments to support key projects and ensure alignment between IT capabilities and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for IT initiatives that align with the organization's goals.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the overall goals of Valley Fine Foods.
  • Identify opportunities for technological improvements to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.
  • Lead process development initiatives, focusing on maximizing efficiency through IT and software integration.
  • Oversee the management, configuration, and optimization of Business Central to support major processes including Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Plan to Produce, and Record to Report.
  • Ensure seamless integration of Business Central with finance, production, quality, and supply chain operations.
  • Manage the company's IT infrastructure, including network security, data management, hardware, software, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Lead IT support services to ensure prompt resolution of system issues and provide user training on Business Central and other software tools.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, data privacy laws, and industry standards.
  • Oversee cybersecurity measures to protect company data and systems, implementing best practices and responding to emerging threats.
  • Support cross-functional projects by ensuring that the capabilities of Business Central and other software systems are well understood and effectively utilized across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing ERP systems (Business Central) in a manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing.
  • Strong experience in project management, particularly related to software implementation and systems integration.
  • Knowledge of food industry regulations and manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, data management, IT infrastructure, and software solutions commonly used in manufacturing.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify opportunities for technological improvement and operational efficiency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
