About the position

The Director of Lacrosse Operations is a pivotal role within the Men's and Women's Lacrosse Office at Dartmouth College, responsible for overseeing all administrative functions related to the lacrosse programs. This position requires a high level of independent judgment and decision-making, ensuring that all operations align with the guidelines set forth by the College and the Athletic Department. The Director will manage the flow and exchange of information, streamline interactions with key constituents, and drive essential initiatives on behalf of both head lacrosse coaches. This role is integral to the success of the lacrosse programs, requiring a proactive approach to administrative responsibilities and a commitment to fostering a supportive environment for student-athletes. In addition to administrative oversight, the Director will be expected to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and other supporters of the program. The ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations is crucial. The role also demands strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the capacity to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Evening and weekend hours are required, particularly during away games and home game events, highlighting the commitment needed to support the lacrosse teams fully. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, confidentiality, and discretion in sensitive situations.
  • Strong computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in intercollegiate athletics, preferably coaching and/or playing Division I lacrosse.
