The Director of Legal Operations at the Law Offices of Barton Morris is an executive-level role responsible for overseeing the firm's business operations and managing non-attorney staff. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring high performance, compliance with administrative rules, and maintaining quality legal services. The Director collaborates closely with the firm's owner and executive team on strategic planning, leadership, and decision-making, while also focusing on human resources, finance, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise non-attorney staff to ensure high performance and compliance with administrative rules.
• Maintain oversight of legal production to ensure quality and timely performance.
• Administer the firm's net promoter score to ensure a high level of client experience.
• Perform all HR functions including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training.
• Measure key performance indicators such as hours billed and client satisfaction.
• Document and maintain the firm's business systems and processes (SOPs).
• Conduct audits and spot-checks to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Assist in the development of the firm's business and staffing plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of supervisory experience in a professional services firm.
• Experience in law firm budgeting, legal production, and human resources is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of technology and profitability trends.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the cannabis legal industry.
• Familiarity with client relationship management systems.
