Executive, Legislative, and Other General Government Support

About the position

The Director of Legislative Operations is responsible for managing the office's operations, representing the Member at community events, and engaging with various stakeholders. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively support the Member's legislative agenda and community engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage member's appointments and office organization.
  • Represent and staff the Member at community meetings and events.
  • Engage with government agencies, authorities, and other elected officials.
  • Act as a liaison with specific groups.
  • Meet with constituents and draft correspondence to them.
  • Provide follow-up on community events and advise the Member accordingly.
  • Perform various functions related to mail and office supplies.
  • Produce typewritten and Word processed documents.
  • Write, edit, and review correspondence, newsletters, and other mailings.
  • Support office operations and community events.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience working in an office environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Efficient organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
  • Skills to motivate and interact effectively with a diverse range of people.
