About the position

The Director of Legislative Operations is responsible for managing the office operations of a legislative member, including scheduling appointments, representing the member at community events, and engaging with various stakeholders. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively support the member's legislative duties and community engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule Member's appointments
  • Manage office items, timelines & office organization
  • Represent and staff the Member at community meetings and events
  • Engage with government agencies, authorities and other elected officials
  • Act as liaison with specific groups
  • Meet with constituents
  • Draft correspondence to constituents and provide follow-up
  • Advise Member on pending community events
  • Perform various functions related to mail
  • Produce typewritten/Word processed documents
  • Perform admin functions for the office regarding supplies, memos and delivery of documents
  • Write, edit and review correspondence, newsletters and other mailings
  • Support office operations and community events.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience working in an office environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Efficient organizational skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment & multi-task
  • Skills to motivate and interact effectively with a wide variety of people of diverse professional and cultural backgrounds and political views.
