About the position

The Director of LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Services at In Our Own Voices, Inc. is a key leadership role focused on overseeing comprehensive health services for LGBTQ+ communities, particularly people of color. This position involves advocacy, mental health support, youth services, and program evaluation, aiming to create a safe and affirming environment for all individuals. The ideal candidate will be passionate about LGBTQ+ health and capable of managing diverse programs that align with the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold and advocate for the mission and values of In Our Own Voices, Inc.
  • Serve as the day-to-day supervisor for the youth LGBTQ drop-in space, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Conduct end-of-year program evaluations and community-wide pulse check surveys to assess needs and impact.
  • Assist with client intakes and assessments, overseeing staff in these processes.
  • Modify documentation tools and reporting systems to improve service delivery.
  • Provide outreach in underserved areas to promote program enrollment and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Special Events Coordinator to plan major events like BIPOC Pride and the UTD LGBT POC Health Conference.
  • Lead monthly quality assurance activities and track progress toward program goals.
  • Supervise the LGBT Program Coordinator, providing guidance and professional development.
  • Represent IOOV at local meetings and collaborate with Community-Based Organizations.
  • Participate in planning, promotion, and outreach for IOOV events and projects.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of activities in databases and submit required reports.
  • Develop marketing and promotional materials to enhance service visibility.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality laws and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in human services, including outreach, education, or case management.
  • At least one year of experience in training and technical assistance.
  • A minimum of three years of management or supervisory experience.

  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ communities.
  • Knowledge of health disparities affecting LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly people of color.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
