About the position

The Director of Logistics and Distribution for North America is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the supply chain, including shipping, distribution, logistics, and inventory management. This role involves setting strategic directions, improving quality and KPIs, and fostering a customer-centric organizational culture. The director will lead initiatives for automation and efficiency, manage budgets, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day activities of the North America Supply Chain.
  • Set expectations and provide feedback and direction to the team.
  • Maintain and improve overall quality and KPIs of Shipping & Distribution, Logistics, and Planning & Purchasing.
  • Develop a strategic roadmap for automation to enhance efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Formulate and implement operational business strategy and plans for each division.
  • Manage North America GN Hearing strategy and execution of supply chain and inventory management operations.
  • Ensure material planning and delivery support manufacturing operations and inventory management.
  • Provide expertise on warehouse management systems and labor management.
  • Lead design, development, implementation, and support of new functionalities in WMS.
  • Stay updated on economic and business conditions affecting the supply chain.
  • Create reports to demonstrate success of operational activities and analyze key metrics.
  • Support quality initiatives, including ISO audits and supplier audits.
  • Understand and support Sales Channels to create scalable processes.
  • Develop, monitor, control, and improve key KPIs.
  • Mentor and develop Managers, Supervisors & Leads to build future leaders.
  • Communicate goals and priorities effectively to the team.
  • Establish and maintain the annual budget and implement cost management strategies.
  • Lead large divisional, operational, and corporate projects, setting goals and milestones.
  • Support safety requirements and training initiatives.
  • Write and deliver annual performance reviews and quarterly 121s.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the U.S. and globally.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Establish and meet targets in inventory regulation.
  • Interview, hire, and fire to align with core values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience managing production or distribution staff, preferably in the Hearing Aid industry or related product manufacturing field.
  • Minimum of five years' leadership experience in supply chain management, planning, inventory management, or purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth experience with the distribution process and systematic issue resolution.
  • Experience working in an international environment and cooperating cross-functionally and cross-culturally preferred.
  • Proficient in leadership and motivational strategies for coaching and conflict resolution.
  • Experience with EOS and lean concepts is desirable.
