The Director of Maintenance is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Maintenance Department. This position ensures that all maintenance activities comply with applicable FAA regulations, guaranteeing the safety and airworthiness of all aircraft under the department's purview. The Director will prioritize aircraft repairs, determining the order in which maintenance tasks are performed and establishing timelines for returning aircraft to service. This role also involves monitoring the upkeep of Part 135 aircraft and the airplanes used in the Part 141 Flight School, ensuring that all operational standards are met and maintained. In addition to regulatory compliance, the Director of Maintenance will manage maintenance time tracking software to ensure accurate billing for all work performed. This includes assigning tasks to Maintenance Technicians to expedite the return of aircraft to service and coordinating with the Operations Manager to schedule routine maintenance repairs or inspections effectively. The Director will also be responsible for certifying when aircraft are ready to return to service and will communicate any issues that arise during repairs to the General Manager. Furthermore, the Director will oversee the ordering of supplies necessary for the smooth operation of the Maintenance Department, ensuring that all resources are available to meet operational demands.
