About The Position

The Director of Maintenance at Holiday Inn Express Colorado Springs First and Main is responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of the hotel by leading and mentoring the maintenance staff. This role focuses on meeting maintenance goals and exceeding guest satisfaction in accordance with IHG Standards. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably within the IHG brand, and will demonstrate exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Director of Maintenance or similar role.
  • Proficiency in preventative and repair maintenance.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.

  • Experience as a Director of Maintenance in a Holiday Inn or IHG product.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure preventative maintenance on guest rooms and public areas.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on major equipment.
  • Document work performed on all major equipment.
  • Maintain logs of required temperatures and pest control.
  • Keep fire safety logs and fire panel information updated.
  • Manage key control and maintain supplies and tools in working condition.
  • Hire, train, coach, discipline, and fire hourly maintenance technicians with GM approval.
  • Train staff on fire safety and emergency procedures.
  • Respond to guest requests for maintenance promptly.
  • Comply with and enforce RHW and IHG guidelines and standards.
  • Interact with guests and respond to their questions.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule for department members.
  • Keep accurate records of all preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Operate the maintenance department within budgetary guidelines.
  • Be available on call and accessible via cell phone at all times unless excused.
  • Organize weekly maintenance department meetings.
  • Participate in RHW and hotel-sponsored events.
  • Serve on the safety committee and train employees on proper chemical safety.
  • Attend staff meetings and assist other departments as needed.
  • Run errands as assigned and develop rapport with other RHW hotels.
  • Assist with the organization of renovations and maintain the outside property grounds.
