About the position

The Director of Major and Planned Giving at The Straz Center for the Performing Arts is responsible for leading the organization's strategies for major and planned giving. This role involves identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major and planned gifts to support capital projects and endowment as part of the capital campaign. The Director will work closely with the Chief Development Officer and senior volunteers to develop policies and ensure that donors are engaged and inspired by the mission of The Straz Center.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major and planned gifts.
  • Develop and execute the overall fundraising strategy for major and planned giving.
  • Implement a robust stewardship plan to keep donors engaged with The Straz Center's mission.
  • Partner with the Chief Development Officer and senior volunteers to set policies for major and planned giving.
  • Analyze the implications of proposed gift arrangements and decisions on the organization.
  • Review the strategic plan annually to establish endowment and planned giving goals, action steps, and budgetary expectations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in major and planned giving fundraising.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising strategies and donor engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial information related to gift arrangements.

  • Experience in capital campaigns.
  • Familiarity with the performing arts sector.
