About the position

The Director of Marketing & Client Relations at Russell Group, Inc. is a pivotal role that leads the marketing and client-facing activities essential for achieving the company's growth objectives. This position requires a creative and collaborative strategic leader who can align marketing initiatives with operational and business development goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an annual marketing playbook, which includes setting specific goals and preparing periodic reports on marketing team activities, project-related activities, and client metrics as necessary or requested. In this role, the Director will provide direction and oversight in selecting vendors for various marketing needs, including public relations, advertising, and web design. The position also involves direct supervision and management of the marketing department, focusing on performance management, training and development, and hiring functions. Fiscal oversight is a critical component, as the Director will manage the marketing department's budget, including the development and administration of the Marketing and Charitable Donations budgets. Brand management is another key responsibility, ensuring that the corporate brand is consistently maintained and enhanced throughout the organization. The Director will direct and develop client-centric advertising and marketing campaigns that utilize social media, traditional media, and other formats. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the creation and coordination of major proposals, presentations, and collateral materials, providing training and assistance to project personnel to ensure effective presentations. Community involvement is emphasized, with the Director expected to maintain connections with local boards and volunteer agencies. Market research is also a significant aspect of the role, as the Director will manage staff in conducting research, responding to client requests, and identifying potential markets and clients. The Director will oversee the company-wide usage of the CRM system, ensuring its strategic use to improve processes and provide insights. As a collaborative partner, the Director will connect the Russell brand to internal and external stakeholders and serve as a spokesperson for the organization, actively seeking opportunities to position Russell as a leading contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the annual marketing playbook and accompanying goals.
  • Prepare periodic reports of marketing team activities, project-related activities, and client metrics as necessary or requested.
  • Provide direction and oversight in the selection of vendors, including PR/Advertising, web design firms, and other consultants.
  • Supervise and manage the marketing department, including performance management, training/development, and hiring functions.
  • Provide fiscal management of the marketing department, including the development and administration of the Marketing and Charitable Donations budgets.
  • Ensure the corporate brand is maintained and enhanced consistently throughout the organization.
  • Direct and develop client-centric advertising and marketing campaigns that incorporate social media, traditional media, and other formats.
  • Supervise the development of major proposals, presentations, and collateral materials.
  • Train and assist project personnel in proposals to make effective presentations.
  • Support the business development team in creating strategies, differentiation techniques, and presentations to clients.
  • Maintain community connections on local boards and volunteer agencies.
  • Manage and direct staff in market research and response to internal and external client requests.
  • Oversee company-wide usage of the CRM and its strategic uses to improve processes and provide insights.
  • Serve as the go-to person to connect the Russell brand to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization and seek opportunities to position Russell as a leading contractor.

Requirements

  • Four (4) year degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of core marketing experience.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Budgetary or fiscal experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to utilize web-based software in the design and update of the corporate website.
