About the position

The Director of Marketing and Communication at Holy Cross Family Ministries (HCFM) is responsible for managing the organization's image and reputation while developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies. This role involves leading a team of marketing professionals to promote HCFM's mission and ministries, ensuring effective communication and public relations. The Director acts as a spokesperson for the organization and collaborates with various ministry divisions to enhance outreach and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the External Relations team in developing organizational marketing plans.
  • Gather research for strategic planning and specific products, events, and programs.
  • Design, develop, implement, and revise HCFM websites in collaboration with IT and other departments.
  • Serve as a news media liaison and spokesperson for the organization.
  • Develop relationships with major media outlets and oversee media ad purchases.
  • Plan proactive public relations strategies and manage media relationships.
  • Develop and distribute ministry stories for external publication.
  • Identify and establish opportunities for cross-promotion with like-missioned organizations.
  • Maintain press kits and manage media training for organization spokespersons.
  • Design and implement crisis communication strategies and holding statements.
  • Create promotional materials and manage content for various publications.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all HCFM ministries and communications.
  • Manage registration and representation at conferences and events.
  • Optimize digital marketing efforts, including email marketing and social media outreach.
  • Develop and manage department and project budgets.
  • Track and analyze marketing performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or Business.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing and language skills.
  • Strong organizational and business management skills.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships effectively.
  • Experience in crisis communication and conflict resolution.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Catholic media outlets and influencers.
  • Knowledge of new media and marketing practices.
