The Marketing and Communications Director for Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota (MN, ND, SD) at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is responsible for developing and implementing integrated marketing, communications, and engagement strategies aimed at enhancing donor engagement, facilitating conservation actions, supporting policy outcomes, and building interest and retention among members and prospects in the region. This role is pivotal in telling the story of TNC both internally and externally, ensuring that the organization’s mission and values are effectively communicated to diverse audiences. In this position, you will lead a team to manage and execute strategic marketing plans that incorporate various communication platforms and narratives. You will provide direct counsel to the Business Unit (BU) leadership team on communications and marketing strategies that accelerate outcomes. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with senior peers within the chapter on a variety of strategic initiatives that span philanthropic, conservation, policy, and awareness/engagement functions. Your expertise will be essential in leading efforts in content creation, visibility initiatives, strategic communications, media relations, and digital marketing. As a relationship manager, you will influence outcomes by developing a strategic vision for deepening supporter engagement, particularly among high-net-worth donor prospects, and raising the profile of TNC's conservation strategies in the region. You will elevate TNC's messaging across various media and audiences, contributing to meaningful connections between programs, projects, decision-makers, corporate partners, donors, local communities, and the media. Additionally, you will champion TNC's culture and commitment to diversity and respect for people and communities in all organizational communications. Occasional travel is required for business meetings, training, and team retreats. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Great Plains, with a strong 'dotted line' to the MN, ND, SD State Director.
