About the position

The Marketing Director at Temple Beth Am is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the design and publication of communications aimed at engaging our members and attracting the local community to our various programs and services, including our preschool and religious school. This position requires a dynamic individual who can create effective marketing campaigns and manage the synagogue's online presence. The Marketing Director will be tasked with producing professional, engaging, and compelling content across multiple platforms, including print, digital, and social media, to promote synagogue events, programs, and initiatives. In this role, the Marketing Director will collaborate closely with synagogue leadership, staff, and volunteers to develop both internal communications and external advertising campaigns. This includes designing and producing marketing materials such as the bi-monthly newsletter magazine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing and communications, with a focus on community engagement and outreach. The position offers flexibility in hours and the possibility of working from home on certain days, making it suitable for individuals who thrive in a collaborative yet independent work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create professional, engaging, and compelling content across print, digital, and social media platforms to promote synagogue events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Manage the synagogue's online presence, including website content, social media channels, and email newsletters.
  • Collaborate with synagogue leadership, staff, and volunteers to develop internal communications and external advertising campaigns.
  • Design and produce marketing materials including the bi-monthly newsletter magazine.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or Graphic Design preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in marketing or communications.
  • Experience in a non-profit organization, religious institution, or community-oriented setting is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite including In-Design, Acrobat, and Photoshop.
  • Comfortable with learning new technologies.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent proofreader and editor.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to generate new ideas and solutions.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
