About the position

The Director of Marketing/Business Development at Centinela Hospital Medical Center is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all aspects of business development and marketing communications. This includes the development, implementation, monitoring, updating, and ongoing analysis of the organization's strategic business development and marketing plan. The director will work closely with the CEO to drive growth in the hospital's admissions, clinical programs, and service line development. This role encompasses business planning, physician relations, community relations, marketing, communications, and post-acute strategy and development, as well as senior outreach initiatives. In this position, the director will be responsible for creating and implementing tracking mechanisms to monitor increases in volume, growth, and revenue by program, service line, and/or physician. The role also includes managing media relations and developing strategies for the hospital's website and social media presence. The director will lead a team and collaborate with various departments to ensure that marketing efforts align with the hospital's goals and objectives, ultimately enhancing the hospital's reputation and community engagement. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and leadership skills, critical thinking abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. They will be expected to work independently and collaboratively, driving initiatives that support the hospital's mission of providing quality healthcare to the community.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, direct, and be responsible for all aspects of business development and marketing communications.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and update the organization's strategic business development and marketing plan.
  • Partner with the CEO to drive growth in hospital admissions and clinical program development.
  • Manage business planning, physician relations, community relations, marketing, and communications.
  • Create and implement tracking mechanisms to monitor increases in volume, growth, and revenue by program, service line, and/or physician.
  • Oversee media relations and develop strategies for the hospital's website and social media.
  • Lead a team and collaborate with various departments to align marketing efforts with hospital goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Development, Communications, or a related field required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in business development and/or marketing, communications, or PR required.
  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare management experience required.
  • Strongly preferred: Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care setting; post-acute experience is a plus.
  • Experience with project/program management strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in program planning, organization, implementation, and operations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills required.
  • Critical thinking skills required; must be proactive and self-driven.

  • Experience in strategic planning and market research.
  • Familiarity with healthcare marketing trends and best practices.
