About the position

St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a Director of Marketing Communications to lead a small, high-performing content marketing and event marketing team. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing and communication strategies aimed at driving enrollment, enhancing fundraising efforts, and strengthening the institution's brand reputation. This role plays a critical part in shaping the brand that will help ensure the college's success for the next 125 years. A deep understanding of owned, paid, and earned media, along with the ability to manage content marketing, media relations, and crisis communications for both the institution and the President, is essential. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), this role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including crisis communications, policy communications, executive communications, campus updates, internal communications, and event marketing. The Director will supervise a team that includes the Marketing Communications Manager for Enrollment, the Marketing Communications Manager for Advancement, and the Marketing Communications Manager for Institutional initiatives. The position requires exceptional leadership and team management skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and deliver impactful presentations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in marketing communications, with a strong emphasis on content marketing and media relations. A proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns that drive results is essential. Experience in higher education is beneficial, but a diverse background with experience in other sectors is highly valued. The Director must possess a deep understanding of digital marketing, social media, SEO, and analytics, along with experience in demand generation funnels and data-driven marketing strategies. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines is crucial, as is experience working with CRM systems and marketing automation tools. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform marketing strategies are also required. Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions are key attributes for success in this role.
