About the position

The Director of Marketing & Communications at Universal Avionics is a strategic leadership role responsible for directing and implementing the company's marketing and communications strategies. This position requires a strong communicator who can build trust and collaboration across various stakeholders while overseeing critical marketing functions, including market research, advertising, and promotional activities. The role involves developing integrated business plans aligned with company goals, managing departmental functions, and ensuring effective communication both internally and externally. The Director will also spearhead the development of the company's Marketing Plan and manage the marketing budget, all while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and implement the organization's advertising and promotional activities.
  • Prepare effective marketing campaigns based on identified needs and market research.
  • Design, develop, and distribute consistent themes, messaging, and branding throughout all communication touch points.
  • Translate the overall marketing vision into an integrated business plan, tactics, projects, and deliverables.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry.
  • Oversee critical marketing functions, including market research and product planning.
  • Manage the regulatory review and approval of communication materials.
  • Explore and adopt new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications.
  • Plan for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging.
  • Utilize technology and data to improve marketing activities, focusing on Artificial Intelligence technologies.
  • Manage a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.
  • Create functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develop budgets, policies, and procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of the company's Marketing Plan as the external expression of the organization's strategic plan.
  • Recommend an annual Marketing budget for advertising, shows, and events, and manage internal and external resources accordingly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Aerospace, Marketing, Communications, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in marketing and long-range planning required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of market developments and marketing strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suites.
  • Experience with Pardot strongly desired; experience with Salesforce is an asset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant experience in the aviation industry is preferred but not mandatory.
