About the position

As the Director of Marketing for Foodservice at Johnsonville, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the marketing strategy for our foodservice and convenience store business. This position is part of a strategic growth area for Johnsonville, where the marketing vision is to create a world-class brand that not only drives innovation in the marketplace but also delivers exceptional financial returns for our customers. You will be responsible for managing all marketing elements, including strategic planning, new product development, and promotional strategy execution. Your leadership will be crucial in bringing the Johnsonville brand to life with our customers, ensuring that our legendary flavors are featured prominently on their menus. In this role, you will coach and develop the marketing team, overseeing channel strategy, P&L management, pricing and promotion strategies, budgeting, forecasting, and competitive assessments. You will ensure the execution of trade communications and insights, leading the development of annual planning and long-term vision for existing core categories as well as innovation platforms across all foodservice channels and segments. Your strategic planning will include the development and launch of new product innovations, creating long-term innovation pipelines, and multi-year capital planning strategies. You will also be responsible for developing strategic positioning for new product launches and creating impactful presentations for the sales teams, including participation in key strategic customer presentations. You will work closely with various functions, including R&D, operations, demand planning, and sales, to foster collaboration and drive results. Responsibilities

  • Coach and develop the Marketing team
  • Own channel strategy, the P&L, pricing and promotion strategy, budget/plan, forecasting (IBP), capital recommendations, skurationalization, supply chain, marketing needs and competitive assessment
  • Ensure execution of trade communications and insights and research
  • Lead in the development of annual planning and long-term vision of existing core categories as well as innovation platforms within all foodservice channels and segments (C-Store and Field Sales) to drive future growth
  • Own strategic planning, development, and launch plan for all innovation platforms and programs, including development of long-term innovation pipelines and multi-year capital planning strategy
  • Develop strategic positioning for new product launches and development of presentations for the sales teams, including participating in key strategic customer presentations
  • Own the relationships with our advertising agency and research partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of marketing experience required; foodservice experience preferred (channel, customer, product development, strategy)
  • A successful track record of leading a team and coaching others
  • Strong P&L management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an environment that drives learning, personal accountability, excellence, and teamwork
  • Proven ability to drive execution
