About the position

At Trunk Tools, we are tackling the massive $13 trillion+ construction industry. We're an exceptional team of serial entrepreneurs, brought together by our shared mission: automating construction. Our founding team (SpaceX, Stanford, MIT, Carta, etc.) has successfully built and deployed software in construction for 140k+ users, millions of users beyond the construction space, and worked on +$2 billion of built-environment projects. We aren't another out-of-touch tech startup; most of our team comes from construction. We spent the last few years building the brain behind construction. Now we are deploying workflows/agents, starting with a Q&A document chatbot, to be ingrained in construction teams' workflows, ultimately to automate construction. Given our immense traction with several Fortune 500 construction companies, we are doubling our team in order to deploy several more agents this year. You will have an opportunity to drive the transformation of a multi-trillion-dollar industry full of waste, risks, and inefficiencies. This role is the first marketing hire at Trunk Tools. You will be responsible for creating and executing the strategy to generate demand to support our revenue targets and promote the Trunk Tools brand as the leading company of AI in construction. Given this is the first full-time position in the marketing function, you will play a critical role in setting up the tech stack and ensuring the Trunk Tools marketing org has data-driven processes. You will initially be responsible for growth marketing, product marketing, content marketing, and all other corporate marketing functions until the team is further built out.

Responsibilities

  • Set goals, plan, and prioritize across all areas of marketing.
  • Execute on marketing plans to support the team and our goals.
  • Build out the marketing function, including tools, processes, and workflows.
  • Gain a deep understanding of our audience and develop our positioning and messaging.
  • Launch, track, and optimize programs/campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Own the content calendar and tell the Trunk Tools story to engage various stakeholders.
  • Own the Trunk Tools in-person event strategy, including conference attendance.
  • Maintain relationships and communicate with press/media about the company and brand.
  • Ensure our communications add value to our audience and maintain a high quality bar.
  • Develop relationships with partners and customers to help achieve goals.
  • Manage the marketing budget and ensure efficient operations while meeting metrics goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, including at SaaS companies with an enterprise sales model.
  • Experience at a high growth early stage start-up or scale-up.
  • Breadth in all areas of marketing, depth in at least two areas: product marketing, corporate or content marketing, growth marketing.
  • High quality bar with developed marketing strategies that prioritize customer needs and revenue goals.
  • Scrappiness and experimentation mindset, comfortable in an early-stage company environment.
  • Ability to balance short-term and long-term goals, with recommendations for tools and contractors to build a scalable marketing team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in construction tech and a strong understanding of the different personas within general contractors, subcontractors, and real estate owners.
