The Director of Marketing for Sports Medicine at CONMED is a pivotal leadership role responsible for steering the day-to-day operations related to the development and execution of market strategies and promotional initiatives aimed at achieving financial success within the US market for the Sports Medicine division. This position is crucial in defining key financial metrics, including performance against annual revenue and growth targets, market share, and EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) objectives. The Director will also be tasked with the development and execution of the Global Upstream strategy for Sports Medicine, ensuring alignment with the overall business goals. A significant aspect of this role involves talent management, where the Director will be responsible for building and nurturing a high-performing, diverse team of marketing professionals. The Director will develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives that focus on increasing product line growth and revenue generation, particularly for key products such as BioBrace, Shoulder, and Knee arthroscopy. This includes overseeing sales enablement, medical education, participation in society events, digital marketing efforts, and general product management activities. In addition to strategic planning, the Director will lead the financial forecasting and demand planning processes for the Sports Medicine categories, establish pricing strategies, and collaborate with Health Care Systems to define strategies for Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs). The role also requires the Director to develop strategies to enhance product adoption at key IDNs and to analyze and demonstrate the clinical, economic, and societal value of products to various stakeholders, including payers and hospitals. The Director will be responsible for developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of marketing initiatives and will lead the team in preparing and executing comprehensive new product introductions. This includes managing and coaching US Product Management professionals, promoting the product portfolio at various events, and ensuring that the sales team is equipped with the necessary marketing collateral and training. The Director will also partner with global marketing teams to identify unmet needs and contribute to the development of a multi-year product pipeline as part of the annual strategic planning process. Overall, this role is integral to the success of the Sports Medicine division, requiring a blend of strategic vision, leadership, and market expertise.
