About the position

At Lutheran Senior Services, the Director of Marketing plays a pivotal role in shaping the marketing strategies that support the organization's mission of helping older adults live life to the fullest. This position is not just about managing marketing efforts; it involves developing meaningful relationships and strategies that align with the goals of various communities and service lines. The Director will be responsible for ensuring that all messaging and creative outputs effectively convey the LSS proposition, providing essential tools for the marketing department to operate efficiently. The successful candidate will possess a blend of creativity and strategic thinking, with a deep understanding of both traditional and emerging marketing channels. Excellent communication skills are paramount, as the Director will collaborate with stakeholders to identify overarching goals and strategies, ensuring that all marketing efforts are cohesive and targeted. This role requires a hands-on approach to overseeing the organization’s online presence, including the website, SEO/SEM/PPC campaigns, and social media channels, while also managing the brand standards for LSS. In addition to setting the marketing strategy, the Director will be tasked with budget management for all marketing initiatives, negotiating contracts for advertisements, and creating reports that demonstrate the effectiveness of current tactics and campaigns. Leadership is a key component of this role, as the Director will manage a team, providing guidance, feedback, and opportunities for professional development. The position also involves rebranding efforts and marketing new communities and service lines, particularly in the context of affiliations or acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Sets the marketing strategy on behalf of the organization to meet goals to attract and nurture various target markets
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify overarching goals, strategies, and deadlines
  • Partners with various Subject Matter Experts to stay abreast of trends, identifies areas of growth and synergy within and outside the organization
  • Approves all project requests and directs the team to the tactical implementation and coordination of all projects
  • Oversees LSS' online external presence including the organization's website, corresponding pages and microsites, all SEO/SEM/PPC campaigns, the Marketing Automation Platform, and social media channel and assets alongside the Director of Communication
  • Directs the LSS brand and standards for the organization
  • Sets budgets for all marketing efforts across communities, service lines, and departments alongside marketing goals for all pipelines based on multiple data sources and strategies that will bring in leads and positive awareness of the brand
  • Negotiates contracts for advertisement and any outsourced marketing support
  • Creates reporting that showcases current tactics and campaigns and their ROI
  • Manages assigned staff by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, reviewing projects, providing feedback, and encouraging professional development
  • Rebranding and new marketing of new communities and service lines to LSS through affiliations or acquisitions

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of prior, relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in marketing or business; Masters' degree preferred
  • Experience in marketing leadership; motivating and developing team members
  • Leading with innovation, creativity, and organization with marketing strategies that utilize best practices
  • Ability to lead groups working collaboratively
  • Excellent speaking, writing, and presentation skills alongside interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of design, brand development, creative process, and production process
  • Knowledge of digital methods including website development, SEO, PPC, and SEM as well as integration of marketing activities with CRM and MAP software
  • Proficient with analysis software and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
