About the position

The Director of Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton is responsible for directing the development, production, and implementation of all marketing strategies and related projects that align with the property's revenue and marketing objectives. This role involves close collaboration with the Vice President of Sales and Marketing to create an annual marketing plan aimed at achieving both short-term and long-term revenue goals. The Director will work closely with other key departments, including Sales and Revenue Management, to develop comprehensive strategies that enhance the hotel's market positioning and revenue generation. In this position, the Director will oversee the execution of marketing strategies that align with hotel goals, ensuring that all internal and external communications maintain brand integrity. This includes managing the property's digital presence across various platforms, such as the property website, third-party channels, and social media. The Director will also identify new marketing opportunities, including partnerships and collaborations with local organizations, to drive incremental revenue. The role requires the Director to regularly report on campaign performance to the General Manager and other stakeholders, ensuring that marketing initiatives are effectively contributing to the hotel's overall success. Leading a team of marketing professionals, the Director will be responsible for executing strategies that maximize revenue and enhance the hotel's brand presence in the market. This position is pivotal in ensuring that the marketing efforts are aligned with the hotel's objectives and that the brand's voice is consistently represented across all channels.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the development and implementation of marketing strategies to achieve revenue objectives.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales and Marketing to create the annual marketing plan.
  • Oversee management of internal and external communications, including digital presence and social media.
  • Identify and pursue incremental marketing opportunities, including partnerships and third-party sites.
  • Regularly articulate campaign performance to the General Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Lead a team of marketing professionals to execute marketing strategies effectively.
  • Develop and manage the annual digital marketing plan and partnership strategies.
  • Monitor and provide recommendations for SEO and digital marketing updates.
  • Manage public relations strategies and agency relationships, if applicable.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals for direct reports and handle employee management.

Requirements

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Sales, or related major with 2 years' experience in Hospitality Sales, Spa Sales, or a comparable area; OR a 4-year bachelor's degree in a related field with 1 year of experience.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and strategies in the hospitality industry.
  • Proven experience in managing marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to analyze marketing reports and adapt strategies accordingly.
