The Director of Marketing is responsible for directing the development, production, and implementation of all marketing strategies and related projects associated with the property's revenue and marketing objectives. This role involves close collaboration with the Vice President (VP) of Sales and Marketing to develop the annual marketing plan aimed at achieving both short and long-term revenue and marketing objectives. The Director will work closely with other topline disciplines, including Sales and Revenue Management, to create overarching cross-cutting strategies that align with the hotel's goals and positioning. In this position, the Director will oversee the execution of marketing strategies that are designed to achieve topline revenue and RevPar/share-of-wallet goals. This includes managing all internal and external communications through various digital platforms, such as the property website, third-party channels, and social media, while ensuring brand integrity is maintained. The Director will also identify incremental marketing opportunities, which may include partnerships, third-party sites, and Convention and Visitor Bureaus (CVBs). Regular articulation of campaign performance to the General Manager, Sales Revenue Management leaders, and Ownership is a key responsibility. Additionally, the Director will lead a team of marketing professionals to execute these strategies effectively. The role requires a strong focus on the development of hotel marketing strategies, including the creation of marketing plans and property email strategies that align with business priorities. The Director will oversee the execution of all marketing initiatives and collateral production to ensure that sales and marketing objectives are met and revenue opportunities are maximized. This includes cultivating partnerships and actively participating in demand generation strategy development, as well as reconciling the marketing plan monthly with accruals and forecasts in conjunction with the Director of Finance. The Director will also serve as the brand guardian, ensuring that all marketing reflects the brand voice and leading the strategic implementation of continent and brand promotions and campaigns. Furthermore, the Director will manage internal and external partners to ensure deliverables are executed in support of the hotel strategy, develop and set the annual digital marketing plan, and manage the OTA strategy in collaboration with Revenue Management. The role also involves maintaining frequent engagement with Area Directors of Marketing to communicate recommendations and actionable next steps based on identified findings and digital trends. The Director will set the overarching Public Relations strategy for the hotel/group of hotels and manage the Public Relations agency, if applicable. This position requires strong relationship management and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to develop and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including GMs, Sales and Revenue Leaders, and media representatives.
