About the position

The Director of Marketing at Soccer Village is a strategic role focused on enhancing the brand's presence within the soccer community. This position requires a highly motivated and creative marketing professional with expertise in digital marketing and brand management. The director will collaborate across departments to develop and execute effective marketing strategies that engage audiences and promote brand growth, while also analyzing data to optimize marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing plans for product launches, seasonal sales, and retail initiatives to maximize KPIs.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all Soccer Village assets, both digital and physical.
  • Provide strategic and tactical direction to the marketing team in email, social media, web optimization, and campaign development.
  • Execute high-impact marketing tactics.
  • Research current trends and audience preferences to connect the Soccer Village brand to the soccer world.
  • Develop and maintain marketing calendars to ensure alignment on priorities.
  • Analyze data and insights to optimize marketing efforts and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support organizational priorities.
  • Manage marketing expenses to ensure initiatives are budget-friendly and ROI-positive.
  • Build and execute a robust social media strategy based on competitive research and audience insights.
  • Oversee the creation of engaging content across text, image, and video formats.
  • Optimize web traffic through SEO and SEM strategies.
  • Stay current with changes in social platforms for maximum effectiveness.
  • Moderate user-generated content according to community moderation policies.
  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to promote Soccer Village initiatives and products.
  • Identify target audiences and grow our email list using best practices to minimize unsubscribes.
  • Implement a personalization strategy for unique branding.
  • Proofread all communications for clarity and accuracy.
  • Analyze campaign performance and implement improvements as needed.
  • Report on sales revenue generated from digital marketing efforts using analytics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry policies and best practices, ensuring emails are mobile-friendly.
  • Segment lists for direct and interactive marketing campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, New Media, or a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in social media marketing, email marketing, or as a digital media specialist.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of major marketing channels and expertise in multiple social media platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with HTML and content management systems (e.g., Constant Contact, iContact).
  • Positive attitude, detail-oriented, and customer-focused with strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to anticipate future trends in digital technologies and act proactively.
  • Excellent analytical and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
