About the position

The Director of Marketing at Galvanize will play a pivotal role in shaping the marketing strategies that position Tech Elevator as a leader in the coding bootcamp industry. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), this position is responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies that resonate with a diverse audience and drive growth objectives. The Director will lead a team of marketers and collaborate with various departments to create compelling campaigns that enhance brand visibility and reputation. This role requires a strategic mindset, as the Director will leverage both internal and external resources to build effective marketing strategies across all media channels, including paid, owned, and earned media. In addition to overseeing marketing initiatives, the Director will manage the day-to-day operations of the marketing team, ensuring alignment with Galvanize's business goals. This includes developing and executing innovative initiatives that enhance brand value, managing media relations, and evaluating marketing channels and strategies in the digital landscape. The Director will also be responsible for driving data-driven content campaigns that engage and convert audiences, managing customer engagement strategies, and facilitating local events to promote the brand. The role emphasizes team development and culture, with responsibilities including hiring, training, and nurturing marketing team members. The Director will foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, ensuring that the marketing team is equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed. Overall, this position is critical in supporting Galvanize's mission to empower learners and leaders through technology education, making a significant impact on the organization's growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and execution of marketing strategies that position Tech Elevator as an industry leader.
  • Manage the day-to-day success of a team of marketers and vendors across various functions.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to establish company-wide marketing budgets.
  • Execute marketing initiatives from research and experimentation to scaling best practices.
  • Develop and execute innovative initiatives that enhance brand visibility and reputation.
  • Manage media relations at a campus/market level in industry-specific and national media outlets.
  • Create campaigns and programs that maintain a successful brand and image.
  • Drive the development and execution of data-driven content campaigns that engage and convert audiences.
  • Manage customer engagement and retention contact strategy across all messaging platforms.
  • Facilitate local events strategy with campuses and participate in event selection processes.
  • Hire, manage, and develop marketing team members.
  • Foster a continuous learning and improvement culture within the marketing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree(s) AND 5+ years of marketing experience AND 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Solid multichannel marketing background, including corporate and agency experience.
  • Experience in digital marketing and managing a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience with office suite (ie. Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
  • Preferred experience with analytics (ie. Google Analytics).
  • Preferred experience with marketing automation systems (ie HubSpot, Zoho, SFMC).
  • Preferred experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, Zoho).
