About the position

The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans that align with a defined hotel budget, aimed at maximizing revenues through various channels including direct sales, marketing, e-commerce, public relations, and community partnerships. Local marketing initiatives will also fall under the Director's purview, including managing listings on platforms such as Google+ Local, Yahoo, and Bing. The role requires close collaboration with the Sales and Revenue Department to support promotional and tactical marketing efforts, utilizing e-Tools and electronic media effectively. The Director will maintain clear communication with property leaders, internet marketing vendors, the Revenue Management team, the Regional Director of Sales, and the Corporate Director of eCommerce to ensure that all marketing projects are on track and meet the established goals. A key responsibility will be to identify, develop, or evaluate marketing strategies based on a thorough understanding of hotel objectives and market characteristics. The Director will prepare and maintain a current annual marketing plan with measurable initiatives aimed at sustaining and growing each business segment. Furthermore, the Director will coordinate marketing activities for the hotel, working with advertising or promotion vendors as necessary, and will plan and direct activities designed to create or maintain a favorable public image of the hotel. This includes establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, government officials, and media representatives to develop new business opportunities. The Director will also act as a liaison with public relations vendors to create press releases and prepare media kits, ensuring that advertising and promotion programs are compatible with public relations efforts. The role may also involve managing special events to gain public attention through media coverage without direct advertising.
