About the position

The Director of Marketing at Oak View Group is a senior management role responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategy for the Historic Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs, CA. This position focuses on brand development, ticket sales, media buying, and digital marketing to attract a diverse range of events to the theatre. The role requires collaboration with the executive management team to establish performance metrics and evaluate marketing effectiveness, while also fostering relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring the theatre's marketing practices align with industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee strategic marketing plans to attract various events.
  • Create and launch the brand and vibe of the new Plaza Theatre.
  • Build marketing platforms to support the promotion and ticket sales of approximately 150 events per year.
  • Work with the Executive Management Team to create meaningful brand and performance KPIs.
  • Evaluate the impact of marketing programs in achieving their objectives.
  • Assist the OVG Sponsorship team with sponsorship proposals and fulfillment.
  • Develop marketing best practices and workflows for the theatre.
  • Set digital strategy and maintain the theatre's website and social media platforms.
  • Stay current on industry trends and local market insights to inform strategies.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in the event settlement process.
  • Foster long-term relationships with key accounts and renew annual business.
  • Evaluate marketing programs and use insights to inform future tactics.

Requirements

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a marketing role at a Venue/Theatre or Entertainment.
  • 3 years of experience in a Supervisory Role.
  • Experience in relationship management with promoters and partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent experience.
  • Proven strategic thinking and execution skills.
  • Experience in creating successful marketing programs focused on fan experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience in media buying and ad campaigns.
  • Experience managing digital and social marketing channels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and employee development skills.
  • High degree of personal integrity and organizational commitment.
  • Strong creative ideation skills to enhance brand equity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with marketing events in a theatre or concert setting.
  • Experience in a marketing role during a venue's grand opening or major renovation.
