About the position
The Clinical Nurse Leader of the Medical Surgical In-Patient Unit plays a crucial role in overseeing patient care and driving clinical improvements within the unit. This position involves significant interaction with nursing staff, physicians, and patients to ensure high standards of care and to reduce patient harm events. The leader is responsible for evaluating staff performance, conducting meetings, and collaborating with the In-Patient Director to enhance the overall effectiveness of nursing care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of In-Patients in clinical care responsibilities.
- Drive clinical care improvements to reduce patient harm events.
- Optimize patient well-being and promote independent living.
- Evaluate the job performance of nursing staff and ensure standards of care are met.
- Conduct staff meetings to discuss unit operations and performance.
- Provide direction and support to nursing staff in assigned patient areas.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license in Tennessee.
- Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least one year in a management position.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 6 months of hire and maintain certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 9 months of hire and maintain certification.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification within 9 months of hire and maintain certification.
