About the position

The Director of Mission Advancement is a key leadership role at St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle-King County, responsible for promoting the organization's mission and values through education, outreach, and community engagement. This position involves developing and implementing initiatives that enhance the impact of the organization's work, particularly in the areas of social justice and community involvement. The ideal candidate will be bilingual, preferably in Spanish, and possess a strong background in counseling, theology, or pastoral work, along with experience in program management and curriculum development.

Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and oversee mission-based programs that align with the organization's goals.
  • Develop training materials and curricula focused on Catholic social teaching and the works of St. Vincent de Paul.
  • Lead workshops, training sessions, and group discussions to foster collaboration and advance the organization's mission.
  • Work closely with local parishes, schools, and community groups to enhance awareness of the organization's mission.
  • Provide training and development for staff and volunteers, ensuring alignment with mission values.
  • Oversee the execution and evaluation of mission-based programs, ensuring high-quality implementation and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the development team to secure funding for mission advancement initiatives through grant writing and donor engagement.
  • Act as the organization's representative in mission-related community efforts, building relationships with key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Theology, Pastoral Work, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual, preferably Spanish and English.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in group facilitation, curriculum development, training, and program management.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for social justice and commitment to the mission and values of St. Vincent de Paul.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage diverse communities and foster meaningful relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working within Catholic or faith-based organizations.
  • Ability to design and implement mission-based curricula.
  • Fundraising or development experience, particularly in a nonprofit setting.
