About the position

The Director of Mission Support (Chief of Staff) serves as a key leadership role within the Department of the Air Force, overseeing the Chief of Staff's activities and exercising managerial authority. This position is responsible for representing the Commander on Global Air Mobility mission support, advocating for new Command and Control (C2) software applications, and resolving complex personnel and financial issues. The role requires strategic planning and collaboration with various agencies to enhance air mobility support at operational and tactical levels.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Chief of Staff.
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
  • Represents the Chief of Staff and/or 618 TACC with various AF and Joint Command agencies.
  • Collaborates with agency representatives from DoD and other organizations to provide technical expertise related to air mobility support.
  • Manages 618 TACC resources, including annual budgets, equipment, and personnel.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level, including knowledge of DoD operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting cycles; financial systems; and contracting regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Red Officer experience is highly desired.
