About the position

The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing the Nursing Department's daily operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining high-quality care for residents. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing nursing services, coordinating with other departments, and performing administrative duties to support the overall health and well-being of residents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting.
• Ensure adequate staffing of licensed practical and/or registered nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants for each shift.
• Maintain safety equipment and medications to ensure quality care.

Requirements

• Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess a current Illinois unencumbered license to practice as a RN.
• 3 years of experience in a supervisory healthcare role, preferred.
