About the position
The Director of Nursing (DON) at Xenia Health and Rehab is responsible for leading and managing the nursing department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while providing high-quality care to residents. This role involves developing policies, conducting assessments, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and mentoring nursing staff in a supportive and positive environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursing department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the quality of care.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident care plans and ensure proper documentation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and maintain a person-centered care approach.
- Recruit, train, and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional development and a positive work environment.
- Monitor staff performance and provide guidance to improve clinical skills and patient care.
- Ensure proper medication administration and infection control practices are followed.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred; Master's degree a plus.
- Nursing experience in a leadership role in a long-term care setting.
- Strong knowledge of nursing home regulations and quality improvement processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
