About the position

As the Director of Nursing at Baylor Scott & White Health, you will oversee nursing practice across various healthcare settings, focusing on both inpatient and outpatient units. Your role will involve utilizing clinical expertise to set and align goals for nursing units with patient care objectives, while also leading initiatives to enhance nursing quality and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing nursing services within designated areas of the organization.
• Developing and executing operational plans for nursing services that align with business goals.
• Tracking daily performance and adjusting as necessary to maintain productivity standards.
• Partnering on quality improvement goals for nursing units.
• Communicating effectively with senior management and quality councils.
• Examining adverse occurrences, analyzing data, and identifying trends for improvement.
• Collaborating with non-nursing departments to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
• Participating in clinical rounds to assess patient needs and safety.
• Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, licensing, and accrediting requirements in clinical care areas.
• Designing and implementing metrics and reports to monitor service delivery and identify improvement areas.
• Coordinating with nurses, physicians, and managers to improve patient care.
• Promoting communication within the department for safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
• 3 years of experience in nursing leadership or management.
• Registered Nurse (RN) certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
