About the position

The Director of Nursing (DON) for Dialysis services is responsible for overseeing the operations of dialysis care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing high-quality patient care. This role involves managing nursing staff, optimizing patient care strategies, and fostering a supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and managing the dialysis operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance management of nursing and support staff.
• Maintaining staff productivity levels and staff development.
• Providing effective customer service and enhancing patient experience programs.
• Developing and implementing strategies to optimize dialysis services and improve patient care.
• Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, standards of care, and best practices in dialysis treatment.
• Managing resources and equipment for efficient delivery of dialysis services.
• Collaborating with physicians, administrators, and healthcare team members to facilitate patient care and treatment plans.
• Fostering a supportive and educational environment for staff through ongoing training and mentorship.
• Advocating for patient needs and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• RN licensed in Texas or in accordance with the Texas Board of Nursing rules.
• At least three years of current experience in hemodialysis or two years of experience as an RN with a certification in nephrology nursing or hemodialysis.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Healthcare or related field preferred.
• Extensive experience as a nurse in a nursing home or long-term care setting.
• Strong knowledge of dialysis regulations and requirements.
