About the position

The Director of Nursing for the Medical/Surgical Unit at Methodist Hospital - Atascosa is responsible for overseeing the delivery of patient care, managing a team of nursing staff, and ensuring high-quality patient interactions. This leadership role involves coordinating resources, improving processes, and serving as a liaison between physicians and the nursing team, all while maintaining accountability for the unit's operations and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate, coordinate, and delegate the delivery of patient care to a defined group of patients during their hospitalization.
• Provide leadership and overall responsibility for the functioning of assigned clinical patient care/procedural units.
• Manage 70-80 staff and 40-50 beds, ensuring effective patient care management.
• Act as a liaison between physicians and the patient care team, collaborating with administrators and other stakeholders.
• Assess and prioritize opportunities for improvement, planning and implementing effective changes and evaluating outcomes.

Requirements

• Three years of recent RN acute care experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Current RN license to practice professional nursing in Texas or ability to obtain a temporary license prior to hire.
• Must obtain Texas RN license within 90 days of hire.
