Nearly 80 hospital beds are dedicated to inpatient acute rehabilitation-more than any other hospital on Long Island. Patients are often admitted for acute inpatient rehabilitation with the following conditions or diagnosis: amputation, brain injury, cardiac or pulmonary conditions, hip fracture, neurological conditions, orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, stroke, spinal cord injury, or traumatic injury/fractures.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Inpatient Nursing Rehabilitation Departments at both the Hospital and System level as required
- Manage the daily operations of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Units
- Ensure the departments function according to established regulatory authorities, and collaborate with other department heads to identify and solve problems in the best interest of patient treatment
- Mentor, supervise, and evaluate the team to reach their full potential and inspire continual professional growth
- Participate in managing budgets, resource allocation, and scheduling
- Regularly assess unit operations and identify process improvements to enhance the patient experience
Requirements
- 5+ Years Clinical RN experience in Acute Care or Nursing Rehab required
- 1-2+ Years Nursing Leadership/Management experience required
- Regulatory Experience
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing is required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree is required
- Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
