About the position

The Director of Operations will oversee the daily operations of paving, site development, and pavement maintenance services within a leading firm in the asphalt and concrete industry. This strategic role involves ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all operational aspects of asphalt and concrete paving, site development, and pavement maintenance projects.
  • Ensure projects are executed according to plan, including adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project managers, supervisors, and field staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and implement best practices to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to meet business goals, including resource allocation, budgeting, and market expansion.
  • Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements, integrating new methods and technologies to improve service delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in operations management within the paving, construction, or site development industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities with a track record of driving operational excellence.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Proficient in analyzing performance data and implementing improvements based on insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in an operations management role.
