About the position

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing all activities of the plant's operations to achieve financial goals across departments and outside sales. This role involves leading production and plant operations, ensuring effective resource utilization, and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all plant functions including Manufacturing, Accounting, Human Resources, and Environmental, Health, and Safety.
  • Assume responsibility of the Leadership Team Integrator role.
  • Embrace and utilize Core Values to drive decision making throughout the operation.
  • Lead the Major Manufacturing Initiative process in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Guide and support the Accounting area, including preparing operational and capital budgets annually.
  • Guide and support the Human Resource function to meet operational needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Guide and support the Materials Management area, including operational purchasing, planning, and customer service.
  • Guide and support the plant EH&S program in compliance and improvements.
  • Guide and support plant resources in meeting material and labor productivity plans.
  • Develop ongoing capital project planning and execution.
  • Maintain a positive rapport with all levels of the organization to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with all levels of the organization to ensure alignment of goals and progress.
  • Lead and support the development of plant employees and succession planning activities.
  • Uphold and apply Company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in manufacturing leadership roles
  • 5+ years managing operations in building materials manufacturing plant (truss, garage door, millwork, etc.)
  • Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations, safety & compliance regulations and legal guidelines
  • Must be able to speak some Spanish

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business administration or related field
  • Experience in developing budgets and business plans
  • Superior negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes
