About the position

The Director of Operations for Central Oklahoma is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of emergency medical services. This role involves directing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various agencies to maintain high standards of service delivery. The Director will also engage with community stakeholders and manage operational goals to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems.
  • Manages and oversees daily operation of emergency medical operations either personally or through subordinate supervisors.
  • Establishes priorities for department activities and delegates assignments to personnel.
  • Organizes workflow and prepares schedules; reviews payroll and approves timesheets and leave time.
  • Oversees operations training and quality assurance efforts.
  • Assists with preparation of short-term and long-range management plans.
  • Evaluates and determines proficiency level of operations and personnel; identifies areas requiring improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with company standards, policies, training programs, and general orders.
  • Instructs and directs support regarding proper procedures and protocol of the company.
  • Schedules and coordinates new employee training for personnel.
  • Meets with county officials regarding major policies affecting the administration of services provided.
  • Initiates internal investigations as required in personnel misconduct, complaints, inquiries, and incidents.
  • Coordinates EMS activities with other county departments, municipal agencies, and fire districts.
  • Conducts and participates in multi-agency emergency exercises to evaluate preparedness.
  • Monitors dispatch and radio traffic of all calls to ensure response; oversees optimal deployment of resources.
  • Responds to 911 emergencies and provides Incident Command on-scene as needed.
  • Responds to questions, complaints, and requests for information from various stakeholders.
  • Serves as liaison between the company and hospital administrators.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable emergency medicine techniques, policies, procedures, codes, and laws.
  • Schedules and conducts staff meetings with direct reports monthly.
  • Acts as Pafford liaison in community and governmental affairs.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Administers disciplinary action as needed in compliance with defined policies.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution in management or healthcare related field; or Bachelor's Degree with five years of progressive work experience in healthcare or emergency services; or Associates Degree with seven years of work experience in healthcare or emergency services; or Ten years of progressive work experience in healthcare or emergency services.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding operational goals and objectives.
  • Certification for ICS 100, 200, 800, NIMS 700; ICS 300 and 400 preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Proficiency with ZOLL RescueNet, ImageTrend, Fleetio, NinthBrain Suites, and related programs preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
