About the position

The Director of Operations Finance at Sage Hospitality Group serves as a strategic partner to senior executives and operational leaders, focusing on maximizing asset value and returns on investment for hotel properties. This role involves overseeing financial performance, supporting hotel teams, and ensuring compliance with financial agreements, while also mentoring finance staff and driving operational efficiencies across a portfolio of hotels.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Corporate Office and Hotel/Restaurant Operational Leaders to identify profitability opportunities.
  • Assess purchasing opportunities across assigned properties, including management of the Avendra program.
  • Evaluate operational metrics to prioritize impactful initiatives across properties.
  • Drive financial performance through continuous review of hotel results and feedback to leadership teams.
  • Support teams focused on shared services, operational performance, compliance, and systems.
  • Seek efficient ways to provide services to hotels and owners.
  • Leverage technology and third parties appropriately.
  • Support hotel teams with ROI analysis for capital expenditures.
  • Participate in preparation and review of pro-formas for new or expanded hotels.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required; concentration in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • 5 years of related management experience in finance roles in hospitality, with at least 2 years as a Property Director of Finance / Controller.
  • Ability to influence all levels of the organization with business acumen.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain a strong finance team with results.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, loan documents, leases, and contracts.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Experience overseeing multiple properties and departments.
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse group of customers.
  • Proactive, independent, forward-thinking finance executive.
