About the position

As a General Manager at Aramark, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and guiding contracted services across multiple sites for a client or multiple clients, typically generating revenue between $2-15M+. Your role will involve ensuring that operations meet financial goals, client objectives, and customer needs. The services you may oversee include food service, facility support, custodial services, retail, lodging, and transportation, among others. You will lead a team of operations managers dedicated to providing excellent service to our clients, leveraging your knowledge of the client’s business, relationship-building skills, financial acumen, and a strong focus on safety to make a significant impact every day. In this leadership position, you will be expected to manage client and community relationships at the location, continuously assess operations, and develop plans to enhance service delivery while driving employee and customer satisfaction. You will build, develop, and lead a management team capable of executing organizational objectives effectively. Your responsibilities will also include recommending methods and resources for service improvement and growth, based on a thorough understanding of operational needs and contractual obligations. Collaborating with the Finance team, you will manage budgets and assist in designing improvements to optimize financial performance and operational productivity. Compliance is a critical aspect of this role; you will ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations and codes, maintaining all associated records and reports. Additionally, you will uphold Aramark's standards of operation, including safety standards and the Business Conduct Policy, at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team that provides operational expertise in contracted services while managing hands-on execution of operations.
  • Manage client and community relationships, continually assessing operations and developing plans for optimal service and satisfaction.
  • Build, develop, and lead a management team capable of achieving organizational objectives.
  • Recommend methods, resources, and implementation strategies for service improvement and growth based on operational needs and contractual obligations.
  • Manage a budget in partnership with Finance and assist in designing improvements to optimize financial performance and operational productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and codes, maintaining associated records and reports.
  • Uphold Aramark's standards of operation, including safety standards and the Business Conduct Policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Service, Hospitality, Facilities, or Business Management preferred.
  • Strong focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship, and business growth.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients, senior management, and support staff.
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement contractual requirements, identifying opportunities within contract terms to address operational issues.
  • Significant experience in the service industry, contract services, or hospitality environment.
  • Proven leadership experience through managing other managers.
  • Experience in creating and managing departmental budgets, financial controls, and analysis.
  • Experience in crafting product sales strategies and implementing operational programs and initiatives.
