About the position

As the Director of Operations for Hospice at Amedisys, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the organizational and financial management of the care center. This full-time position is designed for a highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professional who is dedicated to providing quality care to patients in their homes. You will be responsible for directing the operations and functions of the care center in accordance with approved policies, procedures, and standards. Your leadership will ensure the enhancement of business development and continuous improvement of care center efficiency and fiscal success. In this role, you will supervise clinical managers who are responsible for delivering quality care to patients. You will provide input, guidance, and feedback related to marketing activities and the care center's marketing plan to ensure that growth goals are met. Coaching, directing, and encouraging staff will be essential to foster a supportive and productive work environment. You will also implement a performance improvement program aimed at driving quality care and positive patient outcomes while addressing any negative trends. Your availability to the care center will be crucial, as you will need to be reachable at all times, either in person or by phone. Additionally, you will be responsible for employment decisions regarding direct report staff, including hiring, firing, promotions, and changes in status. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall organizational and financial management of the care center.
  • Direct care center operations and functions according to approved policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Enhance business development and continuous improvement of care center efficiency and fiscal success.
  • Supervise clinical manager(s) to ensure the delivery of quality care to patients.
  • Provide input, guidance, and feedback related to marketing activities and care center marketing plan to ensure growth goals are met.
  • Coach, direct, and encourage staff.
  • Implement a performance improvement program to drive quality care and positive patient outcomes.
  • Address and correct issues and deficiencies identified during internal or external surveys or audits.
  • Remain available to the care center at all times, in person or by phone.
  • Responsible for employment decisions for direct report staff, including hiring, firing, advancing, promoting, or changing status.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in business or clinical related field.
  • Two years hospice experience and at least one year of supervisory experience, or two years experience in leadership/management in healthcare or hospice.
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN or other health care professional specific to that state.
