About the position

The Director of Operations at Penn Power Systems is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of day-to-day field service operations within the regional industrial and power generation service centers. This role focuses on enhancing productivity, optimizing margins, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance while delivering high-quality service to customers. The Director will oversee service scheduling, performance assessments, and the development of strong customer relationships, while also ensuring timely invoicing and adherence to contractual guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct day-to-day field service operations.
  • Schedule services including new equipment startups and preventative maintenance agreements.
  • Provide performance assessments and feedback to service technicians.
  • Build and foster strong relationships with customers.
  • Ensure timely invoicing of work orders within 5 days of last labor.
  • Develop good working relationships with internal teams and members.
  • Complete performance reviews for all charges per job.
  • Ensure timely and correct maintenance and repairs of rental equipment.
  • Monitor and report the status of open service orders to customers.
  • Drive technician performance to meet target hours on jobs for proper gross profit outcomes.
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed, including electrical and lifting safety.
  • Monitor training deficiencies and report to the Regional Operations Manager.
  • Develop best practices to maintain financial goals set by the department.
  • Foster a team atmosphere with other Technical Service Managers (TSMs) and staff.
  • Streamline order to dispatch processes with parts departments.
  • Review PMA's scope and targets with the Regional Manager for pricing and execution.
  • Plan and execute the off-hours on-call list for designated areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in management or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a heavy-duty diesel or power generation repair business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
