About the position

The Director of Operations at National Health Transport is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the private ambulance service, ensuring high-quality medical transport and compliance with regulations. This role involves strategic decision-making, personnel management, and fostering company growth while maintaining a strong customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations including inventory, fleet management, financial management, and compliance.
• Spearhead initiatives for company expansion and market growth.
• Create strategic decisions based on policy, analysis, and planning.
• Develop policies and procedures to improve ambulance staffing, stocking, and transportation practices.
• Assist with recruitment, orientation, and retention of new staff.
• Manage standard operating procedures, quality control measures, and documentation tracking.
• Ensure operational readiness through employee management and training.
• Attend and monitor state and local regulatory meetings.
• Promote and market the services of NHT to current and potential customers.
• Make fiscally responsible decisions to promote a profitable operation and manage an obtainable budget.

Requirements

• Prior Ambulance/EMS management experience required.
• Certified and registered in the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMTP) preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Understanding of healthcare transportation/ambulance contracting.
• Business development experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers or employees.
