About the position

The Director of Operations for the Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing (RCAM) at Northeast State Community College plays a pivotal role in promoting regional workforce development. Reporting to the Executive Director of Economic and Workforce Development, this position is responsible for collaborating with the Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing and the Technical Education Complex to develop and maintain both for-credit and non-credit programming that aligns with local and national workforce needs. The Director will be instrumental in fostering and maintaining community business partnerships, ensuring that the daily operations of the RCAM, its Community Outreach, and the Academy are effectively directed and managed. In this role, the Director will work closely with the Blountville Technical Education Complex (TEC) and the Kingsport Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing (RCAM) to identify synergies and solutions to regional workforce development needs. This includes supporting creative solutions for the usage of RCAM and TEC facilities. The Director will also be responsible for developing and monitoring assigned budgets and accounts for expenditures, assisting in recruitment, advisement, and registration activities, and providing leadership for Earn and Learn programs, which encompass apprenticeships and internships. Additionally, the Director will assist in the preparation of proposals and the implementation of grants, ensuring that the programs offered meet the evolving needs of the workforce. The position requires a proactive approach to leadership and collaboration, as well as the ability to complete other assignments as directed by supervision. This role is essential for the growth and success of workforce development initiatives in the region, making it a key position within the college's administration.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Blountville Technical Education Complex (TEC) and the Kingsport Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing (RCAM) to identify synergies and solutions to regional workforce development needs; support creative solutions for RCAM and TEC facility usage.
  • Direct the daily operations of RCAM, RCAM & CO, and RCAM Study Center.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director of Economic and Workforce Development and the Dean of Technologies to develop partnerships with business and industry.
  • Develop and monitor assigned budgets and accounts for expenditures.
  • Assist in recruitment, advisement, and registration activities as appropriate.
  • Provide leadership and direction for Earn and Learn programs for Technologies, including but not limited to apprenticeships and internships.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and implementation of grants.
  • Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or manufacturing-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) or more years of teaching or training experience in a business or manufacturing setting.
