About the position

The Director of Operations is responsible for the overall operational management and efficiency of a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program. This role involves overseeing both clinical and non-clinical functions, managing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and promoting a safe, therapeutic environment for clients. The Director collaborates with executive leadership to implement strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and optimizing program resources.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the treatment program, including clinical services, administrative support, and facility management.
  • Monitor workflow and ensure effective communication between departments.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to maintain quality standards and ensure smooth delivery of services.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support staff, including counselors, nurses, and administrative personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development for staff.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee documentation and reporting requirements, including audits and licensing processes.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to develop and enhance treatment protocols.
  • Monitor program performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure client and family engagement throughout the treatment process.
  • Develop and oversee protocols for handling emergencies and ensure staff training in emergency preparedness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 7 years in healthcare, preferably within substance abuse treatment or behavioral health services
  • 10+ years preferred
  • Two years of experience in management
  • In-depth knowledge of addiction treatment services and clinical operations
  • Proven leadership, team building, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Strong financial management and budget oversight experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and data management systems
